The game Wayward Strand you play as Casey Beaumaris, a teenage girl who is visiting Hospital for the very first time. In the span of three days, she'll examine the story of the vessel, the life of the people who live there, and the relationships they have with each other.
After arriving, she is able to explore the bedrooms of the ship's eccentric and charming residents. She can choose whom she would like to spend her time with and meet them. You can also join staff members and observe and explore the vessel in search of the mysteries of its tangled history.
The residents of the hospital are an assortment of characters Some are charming, others bizarre, and some rude all with their own needs as well as goals and fantasies. They can do whatever they want and are completely separate from the character of the patient.
In the three days Casey is on board the vessel and the other passengers are living their own tales that she is able to explore. Every character acts and moves on their own terms and on their own timetable and sharing information with each others, expressing opinions; fighting or joking about gossip - or chatting with Casey whenever she stops to visit.
